Room booking should be done on a personal basis and lodging is not included in the conference registration fee. Organizers have secured a number of rooms with Bern-incoming gmbh. Please visit this link for hotel suggestions and booking. If you use this link to make your room reservations, we advise you to do this before July 31. After this date, rooms will no longer be secured. If you want to arrive before September 6 and/or leave after September 10, you should directly contact Bern-incoming at info@bern-incoming.ch. The price for the extended accommodation will be the congress price.
As of August 1, there will be no room contingent available anymore at Bern-incoming and participants will have to find a room on their own. Local tourist office in Bern can be contacted through the website www.berninfo.com.
By plane
Bern-Belp Airport offers a number of international connections and is just 20 minutes (9 km) from the city center. There are regular bus connections between the airport and the Bern main railway station.
Alternatively, it may be convenient to fly to Zurich, Basel or Geneva, and to reach Bern by train from there. Zurich and Geneva offer very convenient changes at their respective airport railway stations (approx. every 30 min. from Zurich, 90 minutes journey; every hour from Geneva, 120 minutes journey). EuroAirport Basel has frequent bus connections to Basel main station, from where the train to Bern takes approximately one hour. By train
Participants from neighbouring countries may consider travelling to Bern by train. There are convenient connections from most countries to Bern main station. Bern is visited by several high speed trains (TGV, ICE, Cisalpino).
By car
Bern is connected to the European long-distance highway 4 (E4) and the national motorway network. Access to southern Switzerland and Italy is via the Lötschberg Tunnel/Simplon Pass or the St. Bernard road tunnel.
