About the speaker

Jitka Fučíková makes original conceptual contributions to the fields of immunogenic cell death, tumor immunology, and cancer immunotherapy. She has elucidated fundamental links between adaptive stress responses in malignant cells and the activation of clinically relevant, tumor-specific adaptive immune responses. By dissecting the role of immune cell populations in tumor progression, with a particular focus on ovarian cancer, her team generates mechanistic insights that inform the rational design of innovative immunotherapeutic strategies, including dendritic cell–based therapies. This work is supported by close collaborations with clinicians and scientists, enabling access to patient-derived samples and translational research. A major research axis of her laboratory focuses on the immunobiology of tertiary lymphoid structures and their role in organizing effective anti-tumor immunity. These advances are being translated into novel immune-oncology approaches currently under preclinical and clinical development through academic–industrial collaboration with SOTIO Biotech.
