About the speaker

Federica Benvenuti received her PhD in Immunology from the International School for Advanced Studies (SISSA) and completed postdoctoral training at the Institut Curie in Paris. Her research has contributed to elucidating the cellular mechanisms governing interactions between dendritic cells and T cells during T-cell priming. More recently, at the International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (Trieste, Italy), her group has investigated the molecular and cellular processes underlying the acquisition and processing of tumor neoantigens by dendritic cells and macrophages within tissues, and how these processes shape antitumor T-cell responses. Using clinically relevant preclinical models of non-small cell lung cancer, her laboratory is currently studying the evolution and functional dynamics of lung-resident type 1 conventional dendritic cells (cDC1s) during tumor progression.
